The short answer
The best MagSafe wallet is the one that holds the cards you actually carry, stays on your phone, and lets you get a card out fast. Apple's own wallet is a good fit if you carry three cards or fewer. If you carry more, or you want to grab a card without sliding the whole wallet off, a card-fanning wallet like the Fantom M is the better pick. If you worry about losing your wallet, the Fantom M Pro adds a built-in Apple Find My tracker.

What to look for in a MagSafe wallet
1. How many cards it holds
Most MagSafe wallets are a single sleeve. They hold two to four cards and start to stretch or lose grip past that. Count what you carry on a normal day (ID, two or three payment cards, a transit or work badge) and buy for that number, plus one.
2. How fast you can get a card out
With a sleeve, you usually pull the wallet off the phone and push cards out with your thumb. That is fine for one card. It gets slow when the card you need is at the back. A fanning mechanism spreads every card out at once so you can see and take the one you want.
3. How well it stays on
MagSafe holds best on a bare iPhone or a MagSafe case. A regular case without magnets weakens the hold. A deeper, heavier wallet puts more load on the magnets, so a wallet that stays light for its capacity is worth looking for.
4. How slim it sits
Your phone already lives in your pocket. Every millimetre the wallet adds is felt all day. Pick the size that matches your card count, so you are not carrying empty space. The Fantom M comes in three sizes for exactly this reason.
5. What happens if you lose it
A MagSafe wallet comes off your phone more often than a wallet in your pocket goes missing. There are two approaches. Apple's wallet tells you where it was when it came off your phone. A wallet with a built-in tracker can be located on its own, wherever it is.

The main options, side by side
| Wallet | Cards | Getting a card out | If you lose it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple iPhone Wallet with MagSafe | Up to 3 | Slide the wallet off, push the card out | Find My shows where it was when it came off your phone |
| Typical leather or fabric MagSafe sleeve | Usually 2 to 4 | Slide the wallet off, push the card out | No tracking unless you add a tracker |
| Fantom M | 4 to 13, in three sizes | Pull the lever, every card fans out | Optional slim Fantom Tracker Card |
| Fantom M Pro | 4 to 13, in three sizes | Pull the lever, every card fans out | Built-in Apple Find My tracker with a 95 dB ringer |

Apple's wallet: great if you carry very little
Apple's MagSafe wallet is slim, light and made for the iPhone. It holds up to three cards, and if it comes off your phone, Find My shows you its last known location. If you carry an ID and two cards and rarely pull them out, it is a fine choice.
Where it falls short is capacity and access. A fourth card does not fit, and you take the wallet off the phone to get a card out.

Fantom M: for people who carry more than three cards
The Fantom M snaps to your iPhone with built-in magnets and holds 4 to 13 cards, depending on the size you pick:
- Extra Slim holds 4 to 7 cards.
- Slim holds 5 to 10 cards.
- Regular holds 7 to 13 cards.
The difference you notice every day is the lever. Pull it and every card fans out, so you can see your whole stack and take the one you need without taking the wallet off your phone. It comes in Aluminum Black, Carbon Fiber and Walnut, with an optional money clip in Titanium, Black or Gold for cash.

05
Fantom M Pro: for people who worry about losing it
The M Pro is the same card-fanning MagSafe wallet with an Apple Find My tracker built in. It shows up in the Find My app on your iPhone like an AirTag would, so you can locate it on a map even when it is nowhere near your phone. It has a 95 dB ringer for finding it under a couch cushion, lasts up to three months on a charge, and recharges on any wireless charging pad.
It is slightly deeper than the M because the tracker lives inside.

Frequently asked questions
Will a MagSafe wallet fall off my phone?
On a bare iPhone or a MagSafe case, a good MagSafe wallet stays put through normal use. It can be knocked off if you slide your phone into a tight pocket at an angle or push it sideways hard. A case without MagSafe magnets weakens the hold a lot, so use a MagSafe case.
Does a MagSafe wallet work with a phone case?
Yes, with a MagSafe-compatible case. If your phone or case has no magnets, a MagSafe sticker adds a magnetic ring to the back so the wallet can attach.
How many cards can a MagSafe wallet hold?
Most hold two to four. Apple's holds up to three. The Fantom M and M Pro hold up to 13 in the Regular size.
What is the difference between the Fantom M and the Fantom M Pro?
Both are card-fanning MagSafe wallets in the same three sizes and finishes. The M Pro adds a built-in, rechargeable Apple Find My tracker with a loud ringer, which makes it a few millimetres deeper.
Can I add tracking to the Fantom M later?
Yes. The Fantom Tracker Card is 1.9 mm thin, works with Apple Find My and fits inside like a regular card.
